About
SPORTextra has been providing quality sports instruction for schools, groups and individuals since 1990 across Australia, New Zealand and the UK.
Society is becoming more and more aware of sport and fitness as an important component of a healthy and happy lifestyle. Now, more than ever, there is a demand for people of all ages to be taught how to stay healthy and fit through participation in sport. As we adopt a more sedentary lifestyle, it is essential that our children receive the best possible sports education.
At SPORTextra we believe in a two-pronged approach to teaching sport to kids. Firstly, getting everyone involved and developing important skills, especially those that will benefit our participants both in sport and in other aspects of their lives: Co-ordination; Balance; Teamwork; Fair play; etc.
Secondly, giving children good knowledge and skills to encourage them to be involved in sports not just during lessons, but also in the playground, outside school, and later in their lives. We take it upon ourselves to ensure that all participants are exposed to many different activities, and enjoy partaking in them.
Now operating out of the North of Auckland, SPORTextra offers a variety of sport coaching in schools, clubs and private facilities.

Raising the standard of sports coaching not only at schools, but also to clubs and individual athletes, helps not only the participants, but the overall sporting landscape of the community. By increasing participation and providing a better framework for our future elite athletes, even the nation as a whole benefits.
-
We take the hassle out of providing quality sports education to school students by invoicing schools only for the hours we work. No need to take on a full-time member of staff! Schools also save time and money as our coaches are fully insured, all employee taxes/super/etc are taken care of, and background checks have already been done.
-
As well as sport in schools, there is a growing demand for specialised extra-curricular courses that help kids get involved in sport and be the best they can be! Learning the foundations and basics of a sport early in life is essential to succeeding in it later on.
